Homemade Strawberry Sorbet Recipe03.08.2023.
- 4 lemons (freshly squeezed juice)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- Zest from 1 lemon (orange part, without the white membrane)
- A pinch of salt
- Prepare the syrup: In a medium-sized saucepan, mix sugar and water. Place it over medium heat and cook until the sugar completely dissolves, stirring occasionally. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool completely.
- Squeeze the juice from four lemons and use a grater to obtain the zest from one lemon (be careful not to include the white membrane as it can be bitter).
- In the cooled syrup, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and lemon zest. Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
- Stir all the ingredients and transfer the mixture to a freezing container. If you have an electric ice cream maker, follow the instructions for making sorbet. If not, it is recommended to stir the mixture with a fork every 30 minutes to prevent ice crystals from forming.
- Repeat the stirring process every 30 minutes until the sorbet reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
- When the sorbet is ready, transfer it to a freezing container and let it chill thoroughly before serving.
- Serve in glasses or bowls and garnish with fresh mint leaves or lemon slices if desired.
Enjoy the refreshing homemade lemon sorbet!
